God and Communism
"All loyal, honest, active and staunch Communists must unite to oppose the liberal tendencies of certain people among us, and set them on the right path. This is one of the tasks on our ideological front." (Mao TseTung.)
"Complete disestablishment of the church - this is what the socialist proletariat demands of the modern state and the modern church." (Lenin)
Premier Kosygin welcomed in Canada! Taiwan expelled from the United Nations! These were the headlines of last week. (Nov.12, 1971) Canadian Jews and various ethnic and religious groups protested the visit of Kosygin, while he talked to Canadian business and political leaders. Peking's seating in the U.N. has come mainly through the new approach of our government to foreign policy. Isn't it reactionary to talk about Communism? Isn't it keeping up with the times to close our eyes to the persecution of the Jews and Christians?
The West says that communism is changing. It has a friendlier attitude towards different political and economic systems. The persecuted Jews and Christians are not aware of it though! We are being rocked to sleep. A communist said that they are winning the battle. Why? "Fortunately our enemies don't listen to our arguments, or read our hooks, so we can speak openly." You can trust the communists to be communists. They do not change their basic ideology. World domination is their aim. They will use every means to achieve their objective, even a friendly visit of Kosygin. Dr. Schwartz, in a testimony given to The United House of Representatives, Committee of Un-American Activities, said: "The communist wants to change the world, change human nature, perfect human character, inhabit the earth with a new quality of personality, more superior than history has ever known."
We should be aware of the dangerous course our government is taking. We cannot dream away war. We should not imagine that the lamb will swallow the wolf. The most arrogant creature is the lamb who thinks that he can convert the wolf.
The communists operate according to clearly defined principles and they stick to their basic philosophy. An expert of world communism wrote "The power of communism lies in the weakness of the West."
And now the question is "What can I do?" You can read what the communists propagate. There is no substitute for correct knowledge! Let your voice be heard! This is important. But fundamentally, the problem we face is a moral and spiritual one. We need a moral and spiritual awakening. We may expose Communism until it melts under our critique, but if our own Christianity has no effect upon our society, what will it profit us? We, God and Communism do not mix. We can only be an effective antidote if we believe "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." (Ps. 33:12).
